Job description

For our European headoffice we are searching for a Finance Manager. This person will be responsible for the entire financial control of Europe and as such will jointly determine the success and growth of the European headoffice. This is a versatile, responsible position that will challenge you as well with respect to its wide scope as its independent character. The Finance department consists of 3.5 fte. You will be the contact person for the finances of the European headoffice of our customer.

The Finance Manager we are looking for is capable of interacting in a professional assertive way with all levels of management, including the Direct Supervisor. He has a sound commercial insight and the capability of planning by setting priorities and managing several projects within the deadlines. The Finance Manager is open and transparent as to business matters and has a positive “can do” attitude. He maintains close contact with the Regional Sales Managers, the Managers of Distribution Sales of Europe, the Corporate Controller, the Plant Controller and outside auditors and legal counsel.

We are looking for a candidate who has had 5+ years of experience in a similar position and would like a new challenge. Experience in the accountancy of product guarantees and ( customer) returns is greatly valued.


  • The entire financial planning and administration of Europe
  • Managing the Finance department (Assistant Controller, 2 Book-keepers)
  • Preparation of an annual budget
  • Making and analysing periodical sales and/or forecasts
  • Drawing up and analysing monthly financial reports
  • Entering and processing of o.a. purchasing and sale invoices as well as banking data
  • Execution of a focussed and active debtors management
  • Fiscal tax declarations (o.a. VAT and income tax)
  • A matching stock- and returns administration
  • HR and salary administration
  • IT matters and the real estate management
  • Execution of internal audits
  • Reporting to the General Manager Europe, indirectly to the Chief Financial

We are asking

  • Finished Higher Vocational Education (HBO – HEAO-BE/SPD)
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience with extended responsibilities, an independent role as Finance Manager
  • Proven success record of managing a team
  • Generalistic approach, hands-on mentality
  • Work experience in an international environment, preferably in an American company or having worked in close cooperation with American companies
  • Experience in product guarantee management and customer service returns has the preference
  • Great skills in prioritizing and organizing, being able to manage several projects at a time
  • A good oral control of business German and an excellent control of the English and Dutch language (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Type: independent, hands-on, convincing, allround, proficient in communicating, open and eager
