Job description

The General Manager at Volta Belting in Enschede will be responsible to develop, determine and realize the organization strategy of the company in Europe to ensure an optimal result. You will be the main face to the outside world, who encourages personal leadership of team members and reports to the board of the organization. The General Manager has the overall operational responsibility, represents the organization and motivates the team.

Based on commercial or technical knowledge and business insight, the General Manager together with the Management Team makes the right strategic choices to serve current and new customers optimally and qualitatively. In this position, it is important to guarantee the distinguishing capacity of this flat organization and to develop it from there. The General Manager is a solid personality with good communication skills who knows how to move the stable team of 35 colleagues into his/her an Volta’s vision.


  • Coaching, inspiring, guiding and direct management of the plant in Enschede, 4 direct reports and approx. 30 indirect reports
  • Direct managing responsibilities to Management Team; Sales, Operation, Technical and Finance
  • Strengthen valuable relationships and identify opportunities for future collaboration
  • Monitoring the optimal use of production capacity, in line with the supply and demand from the market, to bring a proper balance between sales and production
  • Organizational process optimizer to contribute to an optimal realization of the strategic business objectives
  • Responsible for Health Safety & Environment of the plant
  • Promote and contribute to the image of the company
  • Managing costs and budgets and ensure that the necessary resources, materials and people are available
  • Direct report to the President of Volta Belting in Israel

What we ask:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Sales, Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration
  • 7+ years of experience within a commercial, technical or operational management role
  • Experience in the food industry and/or with mechanical engineering is an advantage, not a must
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic and long term focus
  • Commercial, technical and process driven
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written), additional languages is an advantage
